A little bit about the Duke’s Head
Combining beautifully restored period features with polished wood flooring, comfy leather seating and fresh flowers, the Main Bar provides classy but relaxed surroundings. With numerous premium lagers and real ales on tap, your favourite staples will always be available, alongside specialty beers and seasonal tipples.

This summer, why not enjoy Young’s Waggledance, brewed with honey for a subtle, delicate flavour. Or go for a chilled Pimms and lemonade – the perfect pick-me-up alongside a plate of tasty nachos and a healthy dose of British sunshine!

The VIP Club room
Sporting its own bottle bar, fully stocked fridge, and gorgeous views over the Thames, this light and tastefully furnished room is available for hire for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Seating 32 or standing 50. Catering and music are tailored to your exact requirements, so just let us know what you have in mind and we will do our best to exceed your expectations!

The Wedding Ceremony Legal Arrangements
 The Wandsworth Registrars are committed to give all couples the widest choice of options,
Enabling each ceremony to be truly personal & tailor-made. We, at The Duke’s Head entirely agree with this philosophy.

The procedure which has to be followed in order to progress with your wedding at The Duke’s Head, in the borough of Wandsworth, is as follows:

1) Place a provisional reservation for your preferred date with us

2) Contact the registrars at Wandsworth to enquire of their availability

3) If you have not already done so, you will both need to visit the Superintendent Registrar

At Wandsworth Registrar Office, in person, at The Town Hall in Wandsworth High Street.

The availability of the Superintendent registrar, who conducts the ceremony and a registrar who
Records the event is of paramount importance.

The Register Office will accept provisional bookings up to 18 months in advance. Under normal
Circumstances, permits can be attained after 16 clear days following giving your intention to
Marry.  When you attend the Register Office, you will be guided through all the legal requirements. You do not need to be a resident of Wandsworth to be married at The Duke’s Head but if either of the couple Lives outside the borough; statutory notice must be given in person by each party to the marriage and cannot be given more than one year in advance.

Wandsworth register Office is particularly helpful and will furnish you with a myriad of brochures, Information & suggestions.

Once you have made a reservation with the registrars, we would ask you to confirm your booking at The Duke’s Head.


Your Marriage Ceremony
Under The Marriages Act of 1994 the Marriage Room on the first floor at The Duke’s Head is licensed for Civil Marriage Ceremonies.

The room is licensed for 60 guests standing, and up to 32 seated.

Marriage Ceremonies are permitted by law to take place between the hours of 8am & 6pm on
every day of the week, including Sundays. Our last booking is 5pm, allowing for traffic hold ups
etc.  The cost for the hire of the room is £200 (if a Friday or Saturday), including VAT. This charge does not include the registrar’s fees, which must be dealt with direct.

The table will be decorated with fresh flowers in the colours and style of your occasion.

One of our Managers will be in attendance, not only as it is a requirement of the Registrars but in
order to offer general assistance to you and your guests. We can look after your programme of
music, for example, and ensure the day runs smoothly.

The couple must attend a pre-marriage interview with the Registrar immediately prior to the
ceremony. 

Photography & video recordings are fully permissible throughout the ceremony.
There is a legal restriction concerning readings and music. All readings and music must be of a
non-religious nature. Nothing, which could be termed as an act of worship may take place during the ceremony. Full details must be given to The Registrars in advance, for approval.
Wedding ceremonies are important and sincere occasions and will always be conducted tastefully by our staff. But this does not mean they have to be dull, soulless and boring! You can design a ceremony that is meaningful to you, which will live long in your memory.

All menus can be tailored to your requirements, and all printing can be done by us.
All you need to do is give us a call and we will sit down and discuss every detail you wish to have to make your day the perfect day!
